Hi! how do i add email as my "send and receive" in imessage and facetime? It seems like I can only add my number as a send and receive and can only use imessage and facetime on my phone and not on my mac. I tried clicking "Use your Apple ID for iMessage" but it just kept on saying "an error occured during activation." This applies to both iPhone and Mac. Please help. Thank you :)
Have you tried signing out of Messages/FaceTime, restarting, and then signing back in to see if that makes you email addresses show?

Some things you can try. Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.
Try a restart.
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Try a forced restart.
If necessary
Do a backup and try a factory reset. Then restore from your backup.
Restore - If you see an error when you update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod
Backup - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup.
