Minecraft and Family Sharing

I purchased the full version of Minecraft several years ago and have been sharing it with my two kids. I gave my son a newer iPad to play on but we cannot get Minecraft to download from the cloud. It is asking to pay to use the app. I have checked all the Family Sharing Id's as suggested and nothing has worked. Is there something else I need to check. My daughter's iPad mini has no problem with the app.

Hello wanderer_may,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! We understand you are experiencing some issues with using Family Sharing on a new iPad you are using. We are happy to help provide some guidance.

It sounds like you've done some good troubleshooting so far checking your Family Sharing IDs. We want to make sure that the new iPad you are using is also signed in to the correct Apple ID linked to your Family Sharing account. If you open Settings > [your name], is the Apple ID there one that is in your Family Sharing group? We have a great article that goes over some things to check if you aren't able to see your Family Sharing content here:

If you don't see your family's shared content

We hope this information helps!

Best Regards.
