Easier way to tile windows on MacOS

Hi, I'm a recent convert from Windows to MacOS and I am generally happy with the change, I love the smoothness and integration of everything on the Mac. The one thing that bothers me is tiling windows on the screen. I use a bigscreen monitor and tile different windows 2-way or even 3 or 4-way on the screen, often quickly changing what is tiled. Tiling on Windows was super-easy, just drag any window (maximized or not) across the left or right side of the screen, and it will tile on that side. You can even drag to a corner to occupy that quarter of the screen.

MacOS implementation of tiling seems much more fickle: You have to hover over the green maximize button to pick Tile Left/Right command, the window can't be currently maximized, neither can the other window that you will pick for the opposite side. Setting up a 2-way tile always ends up a shuffle with many clicks and searching around.

Are there any tricks or 3rd party tools you can recommend to make my tiling routine more, well, routine?

Thanks!

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

There is an application on the App Store called "Magnet" that gives you the ability to do window tiling. The application costs $5 if i recall correctly. It also has both a native ARM M1 version and Intel verison (the app store will use the best one for your system automatically).
