Using iMac display if iMac won’t boot up

My iMac hard drive will not boot up. Can I use the 27” monitor with a new Mac mini cpu?

Nope' only a few iMac's could be used in Target Display Mode and then it had to be fully functional.

help getting an imac g5 to work as a second monitor so i recently got a imac g5 with a webcam and i wanted to use it as a second monitor but it wont boot. do i need the imac to boot to use it a second monitor? and i dont have a keyboard with the command key
