Import photos to laptop with 'Automatic' always fail.

My photos are in HEIF. I know I could import them with 'Keep Originals'.

But why does iphone has 'Automatic' option if it always fail?

At least provide some error message to let people knows what's up.

So my question is, why it fails? is it possible to make it work as it supposed to?
