Microsoft Word / Macbook Pro 2019

I've seen this question elsewhere, however I'm unable to respond as too much time has elapsed, and the person who asked didn't get a useful answer.

I've not used a Macbook for a number of years, so I'm unsure about hotkeys.

Using Word, when I type quickly, the computer will sometimes paste whatever has last been copied.

I'm unsure if it's the touchbar, an apple hotkey, or something within the app.

It'd be great to know what I need to disable / alter to prevent this from happening.
