Mail feature missing

After reading an email, the default should be to move to next UNREAD email.

Mail does not do this.

How can I reverse the direction of movement in my Inbox ? I have to continuously move my cursor from a read email to an UNREAD email. That wastes time.

In the header bar click on the Date Received part to reverse order of date progression.
