Linking new Iphone SE to BOSE speaker via bluetooth

I have tried EVERY suggestion I've found online to link my new IPhone SE to my BOSE SoundLink speaker.

The best I've been able to do is on the SE Iphone/Bluetooth/Devises: the "BOSE SoundLink" name appears; the light flashes on the BOSE speaker, but no connection:(

I have done all these steps:

  1. Reset BOSE speaker (by holding mute down for 10 seconds)
  2. Turned both devises on/off
  3. Cleared all connections on iphone/Bluetooth
  4. Downloaded the Bose Connect (I did not join; might that help? Is there a fee for that?)

I'm wondering if there may be something in the settings of the IPhone SE that I haven't thought to adjust? My previous IPhone linked fine. Help! I miss my music.

Many thanks for your assistanec!

Hi wildflower1207,

It looks like you're having issues connecting your iPhone to a Bluetooth speaker. If that's correct, let's try the following.

Set up and listen to Bluetooth devices on iPhone

Are you able to pair your iPhone to another Bluetooth device? This will help us narrow the issue down.

Cheers.

I would make sure that the speaker is in pairing mode. I have an Omaker speaker that has 2 modes for bluetooth connections: pairing mode and, what I will call, searching mode. In pairing mode, the light flashes like it is ready to connect and will connect to devices that have already been paired to the speaker before. In searching mode, the device will allow you to connect any supported device regardless of connection history. Long story short, make sure you are in the correct mode for connecting the device.
