how to erase all info from my iphone XR, to return phone back to factory

This is the instruction I received, trusted on my icloud account and it's not working

iCloud.com: login click on returned iPhone – click on Erase Device – put the information required – once it tells you the device has been erased, click on 'Remove From Account.'

2. Passcode: Settings – Touch ID & Passcode – Turn Passcode Off

3. Factory reset: Settings – General – Reset – Erase All Content and Settings

Thanks, I have a bigger issue. I was able to take care of erasing the phone online.

The big issue is that I can't turn the phone off, it is totally frozen. I've tried all the ways that was told to me and none of them is working for me. I can only hope that once the battery dies, the removal/erasing from icloud will take affect. If you have any ideas on how to cut my off, please help if you can.
