iMac upgrade to BIG SUR prevents skype and other apps NOT to open

Upgrade to BIG SUR wont allow some apps to open e.g. silverlight, skype, epson utility garageband and other apps. HOW TO UPGRADE THE APP OR DELETE THE APP?

Problem with upgrade to Big Sur on my Mac I currently have an iMac, OS High Sierra, Version 10.13.6 - from mid-2014; I attempted to upgrade to Big Sur - but I got stuck just finding how/where to download the app. I went to the app, and when I clicked on ‘download’ nothing happened. If I can’t download it, how can I upgrade to it? It says that my computer is compatible with Big Sur - then why am I have issues with it. Am I supposed to be upgrading to Catalina instead? My Mac is way behind my other 2 devices… But - what’s the issue with Big Sur? Thank you

I can't update to Big Sur because my iMac is late 2013. After updating to Catalina 10.15.7 I have a lot of apps that won't work. They say to update them in the app store but app store says it has to be 11.0. I can't uses pages, numbers, word, keynote After I updated to Catalina my apps won't work, like pages, numbers, keynote and HP apps. It says it's not supported but when I go to app store to update it, it says you have to have 11 and mine is only 10.15.7. What can I do?

Hi iPetersMac,

You need to check with developers for app compatibility. But, you can try going to the Mac App Store --> Updates, and check for any updates.

What is the exact message you see when attempting to launch apps?
