Does it matter if I put my Apple Watch In Water without having the water lock on

Again, the Apple Watch is always water resistant. The water lock just blocks the buttons and touch screen from "Butt Dialing" because of water splashing.


Feel free to turn on the water lock, and then rotate the digital crown to clear water out of the speaker port.

The Water Lock is for locking the screen so it does not change while in the water. Once you leave the Water, you turn the Digital Crown to expel the water. Remember the Watch is water resistant. What exactly are you trying to do? If you are trying to swim, Water Lock will come on automatically. How to use Water Lock and eject water from your Apple Watch - Apple Support
