Deleted Data after IOS Update

I decided to update my IOS as Others is eating up my storage. Since my iPhone storage is full I decided to update using iTunes via laptop. I had to restart a few times since an unknown error kept popping up in the middle of the process which already rendered my iPhone inoperable. I left it for a while and was happy to see the update download is finished and I need to choose how to proceed restoring data to iphone. I tried restore from computer option but there are space issue so I opted the do not transfer data so that I can open my iPhone. To my horror all my data is gone. I checked my iCloud sub which I cancelled premium subscription recently due to my files no longer updating for some reason but a large chunk of files is not there. I’m actually in tears right now as I have lost several years of precious vacation, work, friends & family photos stored acquired from my older phones as well. Is there a way to recover all the missing data prior to the update?!
