a brody thank you very much for your info. On your tip explains it state the requirements with machine ID was:

Macbook (late 2009 or newer) and mine is : (mid 2009)....does it work with mid 2009 ?

It does NOT.

Your mid 2009 iMac can only go as high as Mac OS X 10.11.6 El Capitán.

Your iMac internal hardware is too old.
