Numbers - UK stock prices have stopped updating on spreadsheet

Got through to Apple Support, via phone.

They tried it their side and confirmed there is a problem (after they tried to create a stock price, on their side), with it not updating. (US stocks are OK)

They concluded they cannot help me (us), as it's not an Apple issue, but try to contact Yahoo Finance.

Not the result (help) I expected... 😱

Anyone else have this problem and found any solutions?

Found a workaround for closing prices, normally I would use STOCKH but I've tweaked my formula in such that if I start it in the morning during the small window of time that this works it will remember (or cache the result somewhere) that it is usable during the entire day.

The formula is: IFERROR(STOCKH("INGA.AS",0,"2021-04-28"),STOCK("INGA.AS",price))

This means starting the spreadsheet every morning in the correct time window who's exact boundaries are still unknown ;-)

Hope this helps for others as well.

I've got the same problem with Euronext listings, no historical prices after the 9th of april 2021. It's a continuing issue on certain events it stops working, like year end, daylight savings, etc. I wish they could do a bit better and monitor the correct workings. The data works and is available at finance.yahoo.com so it must be somewhere in the interfacing between Apple and Yahoo and thus a joint problem.

Hi Richard,

If you have not done it already, do what SGill suggested, on this thread. and go to Numbers and ( Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback in your menu)

Maybe now we know its not a problem on our side, we can 'bombard' them with feedback... :)

It's painful with the non- updating bug and a pain that Customer Support does not 'appear' to want to tackle the problem, themselves.

Cheers SGill.

Did not consider that option, re Numbers Feedback.

Yes, it was disappointing that they seemed not to want to take the problem further and put the 'work' on us users, to solve the problem.

The actual customer service from Apple, was very good and they were listening to me, explain the problem. They were honest enough to say they could not help.

I did ask them if they were going to monitor my issue and from other people and send it up 'higher'. Thats where I got the answer to try to solve the problem with Yahoo, myself, instead of Apple, as its a 'third party' supplier.

Cheers

Richard, well, the only positive that its not your side which is having the problem, which I initially thought it was me corrupting the spreadsheet, with my formulas. In someways, it's 'nice' to hear its just not me having this problem and its more universal.

Shame we don't get any feedback from Apple, that they are even looking at the problem. That would helps us a bit.Would be great to get some feedback, just to say, we are working on this problem.
