Can't set up Apple Care, "device isn’t eligible".

i wanted to set up Apple care because I don’t have it and when setting it up it keeps saying my device isn’t eligible

There can be several reason for this. One is if your device is outside the eligibility period which is when you have had it for more than 60 days since when you bought it.

"In most countries and regions, you can buy AppleCare+ within 60 days of your device purchase. In Japan, you can buy AppleCare+ within 30 days of your device purchase. In some countries and regions, you can buy an AppleCare Protection Plan within 1 year of your purchase of an eligible Mac, Apple TV, or other device."
