problem receiving e-mail on my I phone 12 max?

All was well , I have owned my new phone for 6 months.

Suddenly, yesterday it quit receiving e-mails?

After updating, it goes from checking for mail to "Account Error: details...upon clicking on details, it says "No password provided for "AOL".

Please g to Mail accountSettings and enter a password.

I go to settings and beneath incoming mail server, my password is entered and I repeatedly re entered my password here and still have the same problem.

I have also turned my phone off a couple of times hoping that that would automatically re set things back into action. Still not getting e-mails???

If somebody can help, it sure would be appreciated.

PLEASE advise.

Remove your email account and set it up again

Make sure that all of your emails are there or make sure that your email is saved somewhere other than your device. On your device, go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts. Tap the email account that you want to remove. Tap Delete Account.

If you can't send an email on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

  1. When you make an iOS or iPadOS backup in iCloud or iTunes, it backs up your mail settings, but not your email. ...
  2. Make sure your device is connected to the Internet.
  3. Check with your email service provider to find out if there's a service outage.
