Will Magic Keyboard 2020 work with iPad Pro 2021?

I purchased a Magic Keyboard (2020) that was $100 off assuming that it would work with the new iPad Pro 12.9" (2021). I'm getting mixed messages from what Apple is putting out. It seems that the new Magic Keyboard(2021) is backward compatible but is the Magic Keyboard (2020) forward compatible :)
