Apple Superdrive - connecting via Anker USB hub
To use Apple Superdrive (with standard old USB) on my Macbook Air 2020 needs USB-C connector but it's not working with my Anker USB hub. Any help appreciated....thanks

The Apple Superdrive works ONLY when plugged directly into a port on your Mac. It does not work with any hub. To use it on your Mac you will need a USB-C Male to USB-A female adapter cord and plug it into a USB-C port on your computer, not a hub.

There are (not quite so cool looking, but very reliable) tray external burners, some with their own power supply. I've found that if it has its own power, the more reliable the burns are.
Many thanks for prompt response. Pity that Apple make this such an expensive device. Will look at alternatives.
