16" macbook pro best for Logic

Hi

So I have waited about 2 years for the release of the iMac, and its here and looks terrible, it still has the chin and has lost the Apple logo, so it looks like a 3rd party copy! amongst other things!

Never mind, I have decided to go for something different, the Macbook Pro 16" with 64gbRAM.

Apart from it having limited ports, and still needing an adaptor, which seems crazy for a laptop!) this still looks like the best option to run a DAW on.

Any views on this ? Many thanks in advance

Well, those new iMacs are certainly aimed at the 'consumer' end of the iMac market.

When they get around to replacing the 27inch iMac there may well be a newer M1 chip.

My friend bought a 16inch MacBook Pro a little while ago and is very pleased with it. Another Logic user friend bought an M1 Mac Mini and is very pleased with that.

If it works for you and you are doing the work you need to do, yes. No one, ever, when they heard a song they liked from an artist they liked questioned what it was recorded on except us recording geeks and that is less than 0.01% of the market.

No one else cares. It's just: "Do I like this music?"

Yes you are correct to say the new iMacs are aimed at the consumer iMac market.

I will wait to see what the spec the 27" iMac is.

In the meantime my Macbook Pro 2015 15" 2.8 i7 16gb RAM is causing me no problems whatsoever, it has 2 USB A ports and 2 TB2 ports an SD card reader and HDMI port! the screen is amazing and I have it hooked up to my 27" TB Display, which is also amazing with lots of ports.

mm, maybe I should stick with what I have for 4 or 5 years!
