Just a heads up, screen sharing(broadcasting/streaming) is also possible on iPhones. This option can be enabled with an hard press on the Record Screen Icon in control center. That will bring up a menu showing all possible apps that can access your screen.

As shown in image 1, it gives the option to record. In image 2, it gives to option to broadcast. Both will notify the user with the red dot as shown in the image of the previous post.

I have contacted Apple. They submitted it to the engineers two months ago and they were to follow back up with me via phone a week later. Every week since I just get a generic response email from the rep “We’re still working on your issue” and the engineers haven’t responded. Good support, huh? They haven’t offered to repair or replace any of them.

I’m pretty sure they are aware of the issue...if they wasn’t they are now. If they do something about it, we can only hope. However, it is considered a software issue, not hardware and the warranty Apple provides only covers the hardware aspects of the phone. My old device was a X, so I traded it in and got the 12. I also opted for the Apple Care as it does cover software and if it happens again on the 12, they’ll replace it.

My situation is not a normal one and I’m pretty sure I was targeted. Therefor, it’s not something that happens across all of their devices, only those devices that are targeted by someone, so I’m sure it’s not a priority for Apple as they have a small percentage of people with this problem, it’s not widespread. I’m certain an ex-roommate had something to do with it. They were put on the road shortly after this started.

I chose to stick with Apple as I’m sure the people that done this have to go to great lengths and get physical access to the devices. I’m pretty sure my financials would’ve been affected if I had used any other device other than Apple.

When you say you had the same issue at first, what issue specifically are you referring to, the Diagnostic issue?

I have also noticed my location being “forced” shared. I have location services disabled and restricted but somehow the little button that’s grayed out will still get switched over to on and I can’t turn it back off without lifting the restrictions. I’ve noticed a few other odd things going on with these devices as well. You?

It appears that the menu being “broken” is widespread. Yes, that’s what I was referring to. But what made me notice the menu behaving in this manner, is if I leave my devices (I have 3 Apple devices) on that menu, I will get the prompt “Start Diagnostics With Apple Support. An Apple support technician has enrolled this iPhone in a diagnostic session.” I have a new device that doesn’t do it and have checked countless others. So that tells me my 3 devices were specifically targeted. Even after iTunes restore they still say that. I’m trying to find someone that knows a good program other than iTunes where I can wipe the devices clean and restore them. The guy at the cellphone repair store hasn’t seen anything like it and he tried restoring it with a program that he has for specifically repairing iPhones and it did no good.

And I know for a fact that my screen can be seen by someone else. I created a brand new email address, never used, and Facebook account. Moments after doing so, I get a phishing email purported to be from Facebook to that new address. Sure, just a coincidence if you believe in those. But I’ve had way too many coincidences for it to be chalked up to that.

Have you tried to speak to Apple support about the issue did they give you the new device to compensate for what happened to the old one is there anything else besides that issue that is happening on those three phones just wondering I had the same issue at first I thought it was because I had accidentally turn my data off and wasn’t on Wi-Fi when it happened But when I tried it three times in a row with that on it did it again two of those three times
