AppleCare+ for magic keyboard and Magic Mouse 2

I purchased Mac mini from apple store along with AppleCare+. I purchased a magic keyboard with numeric keypad and Magic Mouse 2 from amazon on the same day. The AppleCare terms and conditions clearly state that these 2 accessories purchased with Mac mini are supported by AppleCare+. However, when I called support to add them to the AppleCare+ plan, they said it can't be done since these are non-serialised products. I am not sure why they would say that since without a serial number how would one even know whether the product is genuine or not. Could someone please clarify if these 2 products can be added to the AppleCare+ plan?

Hi. Thanks for the reply. That could be the case. However, I would like to mention 2 points:

  1. Apple support confirmed that Amazon is an authorised reseller and the products are genuine.
  2. Last year, I purchased ipad air 4 with Apple pencil 2 from Amazon. I purchased only the magic keyboard for ipad air 4 and AppleCare+ plan for ipad from Apple store. Yet, Apple support agreed to add all 3 (ipad, pencil and keyboard) to the same AppleCare+ plan.

Hence I was wondering what is so different in case of Mac min and it’s accessories.
