Compatibility Problems, DragonFly Cobalt DAC with iPad Pro MQDT2LL/A

Just purchased an AudioQuest DragonFly Cobalt with recommended separately purchased Apple "Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter (w/charging port)". This set up is not working. The analogue iPad headphone port sounds better than the Dragonfly & Apple connection. Has anyone else tried this out with positive results?

As a side note, I did try the Dragonfly and supplied Dragontail on my Dell laptop via USB C port. Awesome playback. Checking in with AudioQuest Support, they indicate it must be the Apple adapter.

Now stuck in the middle with an expensive adapter to send back..

UPDATE to my April 23/21 post;

I am using a 10.5 inch iPad Pro, Model; MQDT2LL/A. My IOS was upgraded to 14.4.2 just prior to Apple Adapter purchase. It seems after powering off the iPad and disconnecting & re connecting the Apple Camera adapter a number of times, the Apple Camera Adapter is now working with the AudioQuest DragonFly Cobalt. So this has magically resolved itself.

I will provide a further update if this current status changes. ..R

Hello CanOtt,

It looks like no one has responded to your question. Here are a couple things that might help others answer your question:

Could you tell us which iPad Pro model you're using? Identify your iPad model

Are you on the latest iPadOS, 14.4.2? Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Have you tested Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter with a different device?
