I don't know how this has happened or how to fix this! Basically when I type on my phone (example in notes, text or insta etc.) it automatically adds a full stop after each word. I searched how to fix this is issue, by turning off the keyboard shortcut "." however when I turn off this function it now adds a double space after each word, so I either have full stops or double spacing and can't type normal anymore. Please help!

Meybe you should check what Text Replacement you have set on your iPhone in Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement.

We understand with keyboard shortcut "." enabled, a period is placed after each word. Now that is turned off, you're getting a double space after each word. To make sure it isn't related to the display, we suggest cleaning it: Cleaning your iPhone Also, test without a screen protector and/or case to ensure there isn't any interference.
If it still happens, we suggest having another person test it to ensure the space bar isn't accidentally being tapped twice.
