I own a Dell U2421HE ultrasharp monitor which seems to not working as a hub when connected via USB-C cable with my mac mini M1.
Does anyone has the same problem- and even better a solution- on that issue?
In addition to the USB-C display cable.
Try using the USB cable that looks like a printer cable, between the Mac and Dell.
I looked at the specs for the monitor, and it appears it supports HDMI, which should allow it to connect easily to the Mac mini.
Only use USB-C if you want the monitor to double as a USB-C hub for other connections.
The monitor should have on screen controls to select HDMI as input.
Displayport is more expensive, and you'll need DIsplayport to Displayport cabling that fits the monitor.
Typically, people use that for high speed gaming.

You need to connect the Dell's USB-C port to the regular USB-A port, not the Thunderbolt port. You'll need an adapter or cable that has regular USB on one side (USB A) and USB C on the other. For video, use HDMI as per my post.
First of all I want to thank you for the response. I had already connected the DELL monitor with the Mac mini via the USB-C cable that came with the monitor. Apart from the hub function it works fine. The problem is the monitor's hub . . . . .
Disregard, I thought that was a Dell with the USB-A input port to support the downstream USB ports.
