Apple Card 3% cash back with free 12 month payment plan on Apple products bought on Apple site

I thought the Apple Card 3% and free interest monthly payments valid for any Apple products purchased on the Apple site, why aren’t all the new announced products on that plan?

The monthly plan is just a way to spread your purchases over a fixed period of time like when you buy an iPhone and paying in 12 installments. There isn’t anything complicated about that. It just happens that they offer a 3% cash back with the monthly plan when paying with an Apple Card.

It is quite complicated. Perhaps Apple's slick marketing has been successful in making you think otherwise. This is money that Apple is paying you, so you can be sure they are going to be tracking it very closely.

After all, you got to this support forum from a link in Products you can buy with Apple Card Monthly Installments. And judging by your earlier quote of "For every purchase you make with Apple Card, you can receive a percentage of your purchase back in Daily Cash: Get 3% back on everything you buy from Apple", you must have gotten to that page via Get unlimited Daily Cash with Apple Card.

That last page seems to be the clearest explanation. It says "3% Daily Cash on all purchases at Apple" and then has a special section dedicated to instalments, listing which products are eligible. Perhaps AirTags will show up on the document eventually. If you want them, buy them and see if you get the 3%. But otherwise, any kind of instalment purchase is special and is going to have special rules. You couldn't ever purchase a gift card with instalments, for example.

Perhaps because, under and instalment plan, you are didn't actually "buy" the product. Back in the day, we used to "buy" products on "lay-away". But you couldn't take it home until you had completely paid for it.

But Apple doesn't want to bother storing your products for you until you pay them off, especially when you could be using them to purchase other Apple products like apps, music, and other subscription services. So, you get to take the product home, even though you still haven't completely paid it off. But since this isn't a clean "buy", other restrictions may apply.

Yes understood, but here is their misleading advertisements and I quote:

”For every purchase you make with Apple Card, you can receive a percentage of your purchase back in Daily Cash: Get 3% back on everything you buy from Apple”

it’s just a matter of principle if you say that’s applicable to everything you buy from Apple then it’s misleading if the fine prints restrict the deal severely furthermore I’ve witnessed a 2% cash back from their product vendors with no discount on the Apple site because of their restrictions so go figure, it almost points you to not use their site for buying their own products, very inconsistent. To be honest it might be a matter of updating their policies as you mentioned those restrictions were date feb 2021.
