Macbook Air speaker (Output sound) not working on boot up

My speaker is grayed out when I first boot up my MacBook air. But re-starting it twice fixes it. So everytime I have to use my notebook I's have to restart it twice in order to have an output sound. How do I fix this? I'm tired of re-starting over and over again.

My MacBook Air doesn't recognize its internal speakers. I cannot hear any sound out of my Macbook Air. What can I do to get it to recognize the speakers once again? When I Iookup the sound icon in system preference it doesn't have any output devices listed.

No internal speakers MacBook Air Early 2015 I have reset PRAM, SMC, run diagnostics (no issues) and tried in Safe Mode. Still I don't have internal speakers - I can get onto Airport speakers OK. Internal speakers are not shown as an option in Sound Preferences. OS 10.15.3 This has happened before (twice) and an SMC reset has cured it. Any ideas?
