Where did you see them last? On your current computer or a previous one? Do you have Time Machine or some other backup mechanism in place? Is any of your content on an Apple device from which it might be recovered?

See Empty/corrupt iTunes/Music library after upgrade/crash - Apple Community. If you use Finder to go to ~/Music/Music and enter Time Machine you should be able to see if the Music Library.musiclibrary database has been backed up, and if so restore the database to the state it was in before your upgrade to Big Sur. After restoring the database you may need to use the option-start-Music method to be certain that Music is using the restored database rather than some cache hidden elsewhere.

Many thanks for your response.

Seen last on my iMac running Catalina then updated to Big Sur. Only discovered the problem when trying to share my music collection with my new M1Macbook Air. Apart from playlists, a lot of my music is missing as well.

I have Time Machine but not sure how to use it for a backup of music.

All my other devices (iPhone 11, MacBook Air,) have the same problem.

Attached is a screen shot of the current screen.

Will be great if you can help. PS - a lot of this is my property and no relationship to Apple apart from being stored on my devices.
