Font color of the upper menu bar

I am having a problem with the font color of the bar at the top of the screen, which shows the current application and options. Normally the font color should be black, but sometimes, when I go into the full-screen mode, it becomes white and thus make it difficult to read.

Normal

In full-screen

In addition, from the second example (Chrome), if I minimize Google Chrome not to be full-screen, the font would change back to black.

Could anyone suggest me how to change the color setting or to fix this please?

Other information: running on MacOS Big Sur, using the dark theme. I am not sure if it have just started when I update the OS or if it started since Catalina. I have read some threads that suggest changing the color modes (light/dark) in the setting>general but that did not seem to help.

Hi there Waris_,

We understand you're sometimes seeing text in the menubar on your Mac display in white text, rather than black like you expect. You mentioned this occurring in Google Chrome, is it happening in any other apps? Does it occur in Safari?

The color of the text of the menu bar, will attempt to compensate for the color of your Desktop, so you're able to see it against the background. If you change your desktop wallpaper to white, or a predominately light colored image, does this resolve the behavior for you?

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply, and to clarify, the white font occurs in every application when I expand it into full-screen mode (using the green button at the upper left corner), and goes back to black font when I minimize it down.

For your suggestion to change the background, that help solve this problem. I changed the background to white and the font is now consistently black. Maybe it's time I should change the background.

However, I still wonder if someone could help point out the cause of that behaviour, whether it is because of the bug from Apple or any setting I need to change.

Thank you again!
