Thumbnails and Previews not appearing when shot with Sony A-1

Hello,

I recently started shooting with the Sony A-1. My system, a MacBook Pro intel core i7, is running macOS 10.15.7 (catalina). Adobe Raw is up to date.

When shooting with the A-1, all I get after download is the PS icon. When shooting with the A7iii, the thumbnail is replaced with the photo, as seen above. Similarly, The photos shot with the A-1 do not open into preview as the photos shoot with the A7iii does.

Where am I going wrong? This is the first time I have encountered this problem. Is there a fix that anyone is aware of?

Hello ReneJ14,

We understand you to say that images aren’t showing the expected icon of the picture and that they are not opening where you expect them to.

Are you seeing this change when viewing the images in Finder or when viewing them in Photoshop? If in Finder click on the folder the pictures are in. Then choose View in the menu bar and Show View Options. Is ‘Show Icon Preview’ selected?

You also mentioned that the images do not open in the Preview app, where do they open? If you right click on a file in Finder and choose ‘Open With’, is Preview an option?
