fast forward command in imovie 10.2.3

I'm trying to save time when viewing a sports clip. I want to fast forward through dead time of the game to speed up my editing. I DON'T want to speed up the clip as it would appear in a final version that I wish to share, etc. That's what most of the support pages believe I'm interested in. At this point I must hit the space bar to stop/start the clip that I've downloaded to the imovie clips section. Then I have to use my mouse in order to drag/move through the dead time of the clip. Is there a keyboard command that would enable me to briefly/temporarily speed up the viewing to get to the spot that I wish to evaluate and potentially edit just as I can do with the space bar?

J, K and L is what you want.

Pressing K will stop the video.

L will start the video playing forward and the speed will double with each press. So successive presses will give 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x etc.

Pressing J plays the video backwards with successive presses doubling up the backward speed.
