Connect Casio XJ-A257 to MacBook Pro M1 2020

Hello

I have a Casio XJ-A257 projector that used to connect with my Macbook Air 2014 via an HDMI to HDMI cable (same both ends) and an HDMI to USB B adaptor.

Having just replaced the Macbook Air with the Macbook Pro M1 2020 - how do I connect the projector? With an HDMI to thunderbolt 4 cable?

I'm confused as the specs of the macbook pro m1 2020 say that it has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, but I'm looking at it and see four ports that look identical (as well as the headphone port).

If you can help, that would be very kind! thank you

Hey there Sara220768,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand you’re wanting to know how to connect your display to your MacBook Pro. We’ll be happy to help.

Where are you seeing the 4 ports? If you look at this article, you can see the two Thunderbolt 3 ports on the side:

So it should be a Thunderbolt 3 cable or adapter and you can follow the steps here to connect the external display:

Use external monitors with your Mac

We hope this helps. Take care.

Hey Sara220768,

We’re glad to hear you’ve got the right cable. As far as the pots you’re seeing,The Technical Specifications article mentions only two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports. You can view the article here:

MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020) - Technical Specifications

We’re not sure exactly what you’re seeing but this model Mac should only come with two Thunderbolt ports.

Kind regards.
