My iPhone XR ringer button keeps turning off when in the on position. Also, once every so often, the “Silent Mode: On” message will spam itself at the top of the screen. It’s not a do not disturb issue, and i don’t imagine it’s a hardware issue either.
I had this problem before and it fixed itself, and now it is happening again.

Do you have an Apple Watch set to coordinate settings with the paired iPhone?
Do you have do-not-disturb configured on the iPhone?
No and no. I know for a fact it’s not do not disturb because i will watch it flip to silent mode when it’s in the ringer on position, and i do not have an apple watch
Do you mean you watch the switch actually move?
the switch itself doesn’t move on its own, it’s just that the ringer turns off in the on position
