Big sur upgrade help
I had been holding of with upgrading to big sur with my macbok because of the horror stories I had read about people losing all their files. I use my macbook for work, and losing all my files would be very bad.
After installing big sur I got the message: "Your computer booted into Recovery because a failure occured during installation. An error occurred migrating user data during an installation. Reinstall macOS to resolve the issue."
This already had me worrying. After decrypting my macbook's harddrive and going through the installation steps again, it booted in "macos recovery assistant". I have to login with my apple-id and go through a recovery wizard which fails with the error it can't connect to iCloud. I've verified it is connected to the internet, because otherwise I couldn't login with my apple-id.
I've known about the date/time issue and setting it manually to make sure you can connect to the iCloud servers, but I can't manage to boot my mac into any other mode other then the "macos recovery assistent". This means I can't set my date/time manually or do anything. The only option I have is boot into windows via bootcamp or wipe the entire macbook (which isn't an option for me).
What do I need to do to fix this? The only thing I have now is a macbook running windows because MacOS seems bricked.
