OS X El Capitan Issue- HELP

Hi

My old Mac now only boots up in recovery mode ( OS X Utilities) and no longer works properly. OS X EL Capitan 10.1

The Recovery disk is locked.

The get help online doesn't help as the Apple ID from the person that bought the Imac is clearly different to mine ( and we are not in touch)

When I click Icloud it doesn't load on this version of IMAC so I can not log in that way. (the loading symbol remains constant)

When I try to reload the OS X system it says this item is temporary unavailable ( and I have yet to be able to log in to icloud on this IMac as thr system doesnt work)

So far I have:

tried reloading OS x but item unavailable and icloud wont load up on this system for me to log in.

I have tried all the cmd + alt + r type options and nothing works.

I have tried the fusion drive coding on terminal but there is always a code preloaded -bash.3.2#?

In disk utility I have clicked erase and rebooted several times but nothing works.

What is the issue? Why is the operating system not working and how can i fix it please?

Hi ,

Thanks for reaching out about erasing and reinstalling the software on your Mac. We can help with this. There are two sides to this issue. The first is that if this Mac is activation locked, you won't be able to get past this steps until you unlock it using the correct Apple ID and password. If this is another person's info, they can unlock it using iCloud.com.

If this isn't the case, you can use a bootable installer to erase and reinstall the software.

Hi, thanks for trying to help.

I can not use the other persons details as they are no longer with us.

I have tried to download the OS onto USB drive to re-boot which hasn't worked so far. I am not sure if I am typing the code correctly into terminal.

At the moment the Imac just loads in recovery mode, OS X utilities. Luckily the option to get help online allows me to navigate to internet sites. Therefore at the moment that is the only way I can get any sort of access.

It also states that there is no support disk.

I think it might be time to give up trying to fix it, nothing seems to work.
