I have an existing magnetic mount which doesn’t work with the Mag Safe case. Can I slip a magnet inside the case (so it works on the car magnetic mount)? Or will that interfere with the phone/Mag Safe case?

It seems like that your car would need to provide 20 Watts of current for the MagSafe to work correctly. See this:

Good to know. I specifically wanted advice on whether I can slip a magnet inside a MagSafe charger case so it works (ie to attach to) with a car magnetic mount. Not to charge the phone, just to watch the SatNav. See below for example
