Carplay not working after update to 14.4.2 in my car. It works in our other vehicles, just not mine. It will not read messages, nor when trying to send/reply, it will not ask, what would you like to say to........was working fine prior to update.
I suggest that you upgrade to iOS 14.5 which came out today. Perhaps the upgrade will clear up your problem.
I just did the upgrade. That did not help. I can use maps and calls and that works fine through car speakers, but the announcing of messages and the what do you want to say to........announcement for messages does not work!!! Extremely frustrating.
Apple does not support iOS downgrading.

Hopefully somebody else will see your topic who knows more about CarPlay. I have never used it, sorry.
