firmware passwo

Hi, have a problem with a firmware password, bougth an used imac, its a late 2013 model

when i tried to install it wanted a password it refuses to boot on any other disc or usb,

is there anything to do

If it was not properly prepared for resale, then you need to contact the seller or return it to the seller.

Removing the firmware password is something the original owner should do.


If you bought the Mac on eBay or other similar source, have the original owner remove the password.

It is entirely possible the source bought stolen equipment.


Call AppleCare if you suspect that, so they can at least find out who the owner is and alert them where it is.
