Reset firmware Password for iMac 2014

Hi guys!

I have a question regarding an older iMac from 2014. It has accidentally been locked from booting since firmware password is forgotten. Apple claims they cannot unlock it for some reason. It has the fusion drive and that is very tempting to use. Is there anyone of you who knows how I can fix this issue? There must be a way!

thanks in advance!

Erik

Fusion drive isn’t actually that great nowadays, a pure SSD is much better…

If you have your original receipt / proof of purchase, Apple should unlock it for you, per their own page: Set a firmware password on your Mac – Apple Support (UK).
