Locked out of my iMac

iMac 2017 Big Sur

I booted up, and a screen with a lock appeared. I think it wants a firmware password. I don't have one. What do I do?

Firmware password I forgot my firmware password on my iMac 27 late 2014. I took my computer to Bestbuy in Bowling Green, Ky along with my receipt. The support guy said that Apple would't let him do what was needed to bypass the firmware password. What am I supposed to do to get my iMac unlocked?

Welcome to Apple Support Community.

This is Firmware Lock, or EFI Lock. You cannot do anything until you get this password that it is prompting you for.
