Locked out of my iMac

iMac 2017 Big Sur

I booted up, and a screen with a lock appeared. I think it wants a firmware password. I don't have one. What do I do?

iMac 27″, macOS 11.6

Welcome to Apple Support Community.


This is Firmware Lock, or EFI Lock. You cannot do anything until you get this password that it is prompting you for.
