I have iPhone X for couple years and wonder when is the time to upgrade it.

Upgrade it for a new model?

Whenever it stops doing what you need it to do, or whenever you feel you want to get a new one and of course, you can afford a new one.

The iPhone X is still getting software updates, and should remain perfectly functional for many more years to come.
