i wanna use my phone with me while im swimming at the beach but i dont want it to be damaged... can i use my phone while im swimming at the beach? does salt water differ from fresh water when it comes to the iphone?

If you don't have to, don't. If you do, I would only trust Lifeproof cases for swimming with, but make sure that you check the rating on the one you get. They also make bags for phones, but I would check how well it works by putting some paper or something that you can easily see if it gets wet while using it for a day before you trust your phone to it.
Do not take your iPhone with you while swimming!

The iPhone is not waterproof. Taking it into the water, any water will most likely destroy it.

I would not subject a $1000+ electronic device to water, no matter what case was available. Keep in mind that any water damage will not be covered by the warranty.
Even with a waterproof case, I would not want to take the risk of any damage to my phone.
