I’ll try to explain what’s happening in a different way as there appears to be confusion.
This is what I do:-
I use my iPhone XS to record a video of a band playing music.
The volume of the band is at a constant level at this stage. All good so far.
Then when the Chorus of the song comes the drummer whacks the snare drum quite loudly.
I keep recording video until the end of the song.
When I playback the video recording, on my iPhone XS, the video and sound volume are good up until the Chorus of the song is played. This is when the drummer whacks the drum harder/louder. This increase in the ‘recorded’ volume causes the volume ‘playback’ to drop quite significantly.
This makes the recording unusable because the volume levels are too erratic.
I suspect there is an inbuilt Limiter in the iPhone used to reduce overload and clipping (distortion of the sound).
I would like to know if it’s possible to reduce the volume drop so it’s not too obvious.
