Find my friends not working

I have tried to use find my friends as suggested on the page but it isn't working. It simply says "no location" found with any of my friends, I have recently tried adding someone new, they were unable to see my location or request and the other way around. Finding my devices works perfectly and yet the finding my friends part does not. I have looked at all the websites to set up find my friends and nothing has helped.
