How can I save underscan settings to avoid setting it each time I boot Mac?

Is there a way to save display underscan settings to my wired monitor?

If not, how does one request it? Each time I start my Mac Mini in Big Sur, I have to set the display underscan to view the menu bar and whole dock.

I'm using Big Sur in a Mac Mini.

Thank you, MoonJ. Yes. I tried that. Even with using "Default for Display" settings, I must go into settings and set the underscan every time I boot up in order to view the menu bar and get a full view of the dock.

It occurs to me that macOS should have a setting that allows they system to remember the amount of underscan one prefers for one's monitor.

Hello SonofWayne,

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to save underscan settings on your Mac Mini.

We see you have reviewed our article on overscan and underscan. Have you tried setting the display scaling to default to see if everything fits and is viable to your preference? That can be done in System Preferences > Display. There, try setting your display to "Default for display."

More info on that can be found here.

Change your Mac display's resolution

Cheers!
