Macbook Safety

Around a month ago i downloaded a web app’s free version (it wasn’t really an ethical way) and after half an hour or less later i deleted everything related to it because it seemed so tricky to me but i’ve been seeing some files on my mac related to that app. they were gone but reappeared (i deleted them again) what should i do? do i need a cleaning app?? is my computer safe?
