Apple TV+ (1 Year Free Subscription)

Hello. I Recently purchased a new MacBook Pro in December 2020 and it came with a free 1 year subscription to Apple TV+ (sound fantastic right?). However, when I try to play anything on the app, there is always a fee to play content. Just checking in, I assumed it was free to watch content up to 1 year? If i am mistaken, please let me know.
