Any idea why would my Trust Store Version be different? I have all recent updates.

My current trust store version is 2021021100 and trust version asset is 12. Any input would help.

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14

Hi JeffMerino,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We see that you are wondering about the Trust Store Version number on your iPhone.

We’d be happy to help.

You may have other certificates installed that would change the basic Trust Store Version number on iOS 14.

You can look at Trust manually installed certificate profiles in iOS and iPadOS to see if your iPhone has any manually installed certificates.

Have a great day!

Thanks for the interesting advice re: VPNs. Since my main concern is a specific hacker it seems the limited use they are would still give me some protection over not using one in my case.

Is there any way I can prevent a Developer/Enterprise/MDM profile being attached to my iphone? I’m scared how relentless this hacker is and it’s so violating. I desperately need help.

Going to have to disagree with you on that one. Companies/schools, etc can set up profiles for multiple devices before they’re even out of the box. Profile uploads on setup from the Apple servers.

Read it again:

Automated Device Enrolment lets organisations configure and manage devices from the moment the devices are removed from the box (in a process known as Auto Advance deployment).

As I said, they need to have physical possession of the device AFTER it is removed from the box.

One of the forum regulars is administrator of a large number of devices.

I am very respectful of the fact you are obviously very knowledgeable and thank you for helping me. This is happening to me and the most obvious reason seems to be a MDM profile. Especially with the Xcode named file. I’m being phished. Could a fake link have added the profile to begin with? I’m being DNS spoofed and could have been infected with goodness knows what to set up profiles. I did have two apps that were the same, with one with an extra space in the name but now I can’t find duplicate apps. Sideloading with Xcode seems to be the most reasonable conclusion. Did you take a look at my screenshots? Also, does the device to be supervised have to be physically linked to iTunes or something first? Or is it just getting the data off the phone to set up that device? Because I think they must have to get three phones, all brand new and all remotely hacked (although they most likely phished me and infected me first that way).

And yet this is happening to my iPhone. Xcode being added, security works when I add it the stops working. For example, I added a DNS provider, DNS Security app, worked at first and then overnight says it’s connected in the app and in general settings it’s set as configured but the app has a warning at the bottom saying it’s not configured.

The SSL security app says it cannot connect to the host name. (Trying well known and simple urls)

do you have any idea how I can prevent Xcode being used to amend my phone.

My understanding is a developer can hide profiles and developer info from view if they choose to.

Please may I ask where you confirmed the most recent trust store version certificate number? It looks like that particular number is used to signify use of an enterprise/developer/extra trust certificates/MDM profile.

You can find your trust certificate number by going to settings - general - about - certificate trust settings. There seems to be a large number of people on the Internet who have flagged similar problems and this certificate number.

I can’t find anything official from Apple for confirmed trust certificate numbers past iOS 12.

Based on what the Apple helper advised on page 1, the trust certificate number indicates if other trust certificates have been added.

I found a file on my file application referring to a change of hosts and ending xcarchive, which probably stands for Xcode archive.

There was a huge hack of hundreds of millions of iPhones using counterfeit Xcode in 2015. This article refers to how hackers could be using Xcode to hack iPhones using developer certificates. It would certainly explain how someone has so much control over my iPhone.

Just today my VPN settings are being changed, settings turned off such as the malware protection, my browser refuses to allow the VPN to connect most of the time or disconnects it after I leave the page and my mirror screen control shows a constant loading circle in the top right corner and three blank spaces underneath that have haptic feedback when I press in the spaces.

i hope there’s someone who can help explain how this is happening and how to stop it because resets have done nothing to stop the problem.
