Multiple calendar entries in iCloud calendar

Hi,

I'm using an app on my iPhone which allows me to sync appointments to a calendar of my choice. I have chosen an iCloud calendar as I would like to see the entries on my macbook as well. The entries looks just fine on my iPhone but when I'm looking at the same calendar on my Macbook the entries are always at least doubled, sometimes I find up to 4 entries for the same activity. Seems like a syncing issue between my iPhone and Macbook, is there any fix for this bug?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2

Hello mixtr,

It sounds like you are using an app on your iPhone to sync calendar events and on your Mac you are seeing duplicate events.

Here are some resources that might help:

Check iCloud.com and see if you have duplicate calendar events. If you see them here, check out If you have duplicate events on your iCloud Calendar.

If you don't, could the app you are using on your iPhone be duplicating your events with it's own account? See "See calendar accounts you have access to" in Share calendar accounts on Mac. To see what account each calendar event is connected to try this:

  • Turn off every account in Preferences > Accounts and deselect Enable this account.
  • Enable only one account and see what calendar events come up.
  • Keep turning off the previous account and enabling another account one by one until you can identify what account each event is connected to.
  • If you find it, you can either keep the account off by deselecting Enable this Account or delete the account Add or delete calendar accounts on Mac.

Hope this information helps.

Have a good day.

If the app was the cause of the duplicates, why are the events duplicated only on my mac and on iCloud.com - not on my iPhone or watch?

if i remove an event on my phone, it removes one of the events on my mac. Before I removed an event on my phone I had 3 identical events on my mac, so after the removal I only have 2.
