NFC reader fail

New iPhone 12 Mini reads a forward call tag in car but fails to read the end forwarding tag. Recreated the end forwarding tag with new iPhone and still fails to read it while still able to read the forwarding tag.

NFC reader not working on IPhone XR My iphone XR does not detect nfc tags, although the apple pay works fine. I cannot get the NFC portion to work. I know it does work with smartphones, as several Samsung galaxy users are using it without issue. I have done everything I know to try. Is there a trick to getting an iPhone 13 pro max to work with this device? One time I scanned it, and apple pay opened. So it seems like something is awry at a level I cannot access.
